The Burgess Cellars Experience
When founder Tom Burgess purchased a circa 1870s vineyard and winery in 1972, he established himself as an ambassador for Napa Valley and a pioneer of mountainside wineries. Today, the second generation builds on the legacy of this esteemed property, under the cellar direction of University of California, Davis, winemaker Kelly Woods.
Our selection showcases our two estate vineyards on Howell Mountain, with a hillside terroir representing only 4% of Napa acreage. You'll enjoy our flagship Cabernet Sauvignon and also single vineyard selections of rare Napa varieties. Our unparalleled library selection spanning four decades is available for sale and cellared here.
At almost 1000 feet, far over the valley floor, a visit to Burgess Cellars starts with a panoramic vista that offers real perspective on the Napa Valley. We then present our wines in our active cellar, surrounded by barrels, where our hospitality team presents our estate mountain wines.
